Academic Programs

Our academic programs are available on campus ... online ... or on-site at your location. We have students from the majority of states and many countries. Our Associate Degree program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), was the first accredited program in Pennsylvania, and is the only accredited online associates degree.

Our certificate and specialized diplomas all apply to the Associate Degree. All ECE courses for out of county students are affordably priced at $146 per credit.

Early Childhood Education: Infant to Grade Four Associate Degree (61 credits)

An associate degree qualifies you to be a an early care and education teacher or to transfer to a bachelor degree teacher certification program.

Child Development Associate Specialized Diploma/CDA (9 credits)

Designed for students who want to be prepared for a CDA assessment and earn a specialized diploma before continuing coursework toward the Early Childhood Certificate or Associate Degree.

Early Childhood Certificate

Designed for students who want to be an assistant teacher in early care and education.

Family Child Care Specialized Diploma (9 credits)

Designed for those who currently operate as family child care providers.

Leadership for Early Childhood Program Directors (9 credits)

Designed for current and future directors and owners of early-care and education programs.

School-Age Child Care Specialized Diploma/SACC (9 credits)

Designed for teachers employed in school-age child-care centers and/or students interested in working in before/after school programs.

Online Learning

Anytime, Anywhere and Anyone … Online Early Childhood Education program at Northampton Community College is the first online program to be nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
