Professional Development Opportunities

BICC training programs focus on fostering and promoting inclusive and universally designed child care practices on behalf of children with developmental disabilities.

On-Site Training
Because Reibman Hall Children's Center on Northampton's Main Campus is a demonstration site for inclusive and arts-integrated early childhood education, training participants get to observe inclusive practices first-hand and gain information to integrate into their own child care settings.

Our half-day training workshops can help you realize the inclusive vision within your child care center. This training fulfills required DPW training hours.

Training Schedule

• 9:00 - 10:00 am: Welcome and Introduction to how Universal Design for Learning (UDL) facilitates inclusive practices.
• 10:00-11:00 am: Center / Classroom Tour and Observation.
• 11:00-12:00 noon: Group Discussion / Responding to Behavioral Challenges. What's the Next Step? / Conclusion and Evaluation.

If you can't come to us for on-site training, you can still gain information about inclusive child care practices by viewing our video online and using the accompanying checklist.

The checklist is a series of questions to ask yourself about your current facility and practices. The questions will help guide you through the process of integrating inclusive principles into your child care center or pre-school.
