For a third time, Northampton Community College has won a truck driver training grant from the Department of Transportation (DOT). The $159,600 grant will allow the College to provide free Class A truck driver training and comprehensive career services to 38 financially needy individuals. NCC's program is one of only a handful in the nation to receive this funding.
The Class A truck driver training course at NCC provides theoretical classroom and practical, on-the-road instruction with safety in mind. Students will be prepared for entry level into the job market, with emphasis on being a company driver. Entry-level drivers can expect to make between $35,000 and $45,000.
