Northampton Community College was well represented on the recently released Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (EPCC) Academic All-American Team, with seven Spartans earning the prestigious honor. Student-athletes needed to have completed 24 credit hours with a minimum of a 3.50 GPA.
Women's Volleyball student-athletes; Marissa Burns, Bethany Chamberlin and Karla Diekman each received the honor, along with Tennis players, Ashley Bennett, Barry Fedon, Amy Frey and Adrienne Nenow.
"I can't say enough about the academic accolades our student-athletes keep earning," remarked Director of Athletics Troy Tucker, "I am so proud of these young men and women ... they have proved that you can be successful in the classroom and in your sport of choice."
Women's Volleyball finished the 2009 season with a record of 11-9, falling in the EPCC championship match to Harrisburg Area Community College.
Tennis captured the 2009-10 EPCC and PCAA championships, as Nenow took top honors in the singles competition and teamed with Bennett to win the doubles championship.
