From NCC's Financial Aid Office
February 01, 2012
Northampton Community College financial aid priority deadline for the 2012/2013 academic year is March 31, 2012. Fill out your FAFSA today! It's easier now with the new IRS Data Retrieval Tool.
Financial aid applicants and parents of dependent applicants may be able to transfer certain tax return information from an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Web site directly to their 2012-2013 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on the Web application fafsa.gov. Allowing this transfer of information directly from the IRS' database can save you time and effort in completing the FAFSA. It will improve data accuracy and consistency, and reduce the need for corrections.
It is our understanding that using the retrieval, initially or for corrections, may reduce the possibility of being flagged for verification. This is the first year that a copy of the 2011 Federal Income Tax form will not be accepted for verification. A 2011 federal income tax transcript will have to be requested from the IRS if an application is flagged for verification.
Confused by the Financial Aid process? Staff from NCC's Financial Aid Office will host several workshops in March to help you complete your FAFSA. Click here for the details.
