Northampton Community College (NCC) students will debate the topic of "American Citizenship and the Fourteenth Amendment" on February 9 and 14. The debate will connect a contemporary issue, immigration, with the original intent of the 14th amendment, passed in 1868, which says that anyone born in the United States is a citizen, thus enfranchising the newly freed slaves.
