Northampton Community College offers an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Accounting, as well as two Specialized Diplomas; Accounting and Accounting Assistant. The Accounting Program enables students to move directly into business and industry or on to a four-year college.

Accounting is not just "bean counting." As an accountant, you must exercise judgment about how to best report the results of business activities. You will find that financial statements are not just reports that are filed away and forgotten.

The statements you prepare determine such events as; who is approved for loans, which employees receive bonuses, the price of corporate stocks, etc.  Accountants can have career opportunities with the FBI or the IRS, or you can work for corporate America and fly in the company jet.
