In the twenty-five years teaching Early Childhood Education I wore many hats. I have been an active participant in training childcare personnel, working in Head Start, and Family Child Care. I directed an art based college/corporate childcare center, that served as a training program for early childhood education students and a state mentoring program in Central Pennsylvania and an adjunct instructor for Harrisburg Area Community College, Pennsylvania State University, and George Mason University.
I moved from Pennsylvania to Maryland in 1998, where I live with my husband, dog, and cat. We have a son in college, two married daughters and five grandchildren. In Bethesda, Maryland, I am an independent consultant, work with National Head Start, and have my own business, "Young at Art with donna kaye," offering art experiences for children and anyone who is "young at art."
I am a serious abstract painter. Art has become a way of learning for me and I continue to express myself through my painting and teaching. Both give me opportunities to observe and enjoy human development from every age!
It is a delight to be back in Pennsylvania via internet, and to have the opportunity and challenge to teach distance learning.
