About Us

Nicole Fetherman

Background:

I am pleased to be working for Northampton Community College’s Center for Early Childhood and School Age Leadership as the Lead Consultant for a grant sponsored program which provides Technical Assistance for Pennsylvania’s Keystone Stars quality initiative (STARS TA). I am serving NCC as an Adjunct Faculty professor for the Early Childhood Dept. and currently teaching an on-line course for the School-Age Child Care Specialized diploma.

I have over 12 years of community-based service experience from my tenure at Catholic Charities in NJ were I served in multiple roles with the Child Care Services Division until 2004. Most recently, I provided leadership to the Child Care Division as Division Director. I also served as a founding member of the agency’s Quality Council. Under the auspices of Catholic Charities, we operated 33 licensed child care centers serving over 2200 per year in a variety of full day/full year settings including infant/toddler, preschool and school age programs. I worked collaboratively with many community organizations, licensing agencies, funding sources, and local school districts. I had responsibility for budget preparation and monitoring ($6 million) and supervised a staff of over 180 employees within the Division. I have vast experience in grant writing and child care program development/expansion.

I have a strong sense of mission and remain very passionate about the field of early childhood education. My daily work allows me to be quality- focused and remain directly impacting the quality of care in the Lehigh Valley. I consider myself an advocate for children and families and fellow professionals in the field.
