Questions & Answers:
Q1: What courses do I need to complete to receive an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education?
A1: The Associate's Degree consists of 60 credits - 30 credits are Early Childhood courses and 30 credits are General Education courses.
Q2: Can I get credit for my CDA?
A2: If you prepared for your CDA and/or received credit for your CDA classes, you can receive up to nine (9) creditstoward the Associate's Degree by providing a copy of your CDA Credential and your Transcripts for the CDA courses you completed. You will receive only six (6) credits if you cannot provide a copy of your Transcripts.
Q3: Will my credits transfer to a four year school?
A3: NCC is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, the regional accrediting Commission for Pennsylvania. The credits are transferable to other regionally accredited institutions. However, each institution makes its decision about acceptance of transfer courses. If you have identified a four year school to which you want to transfer, it is helpful to plan your selection of courses with an admissions representative from that higher education institution.
Q4: Will you accept credits from another college? Do my credits expire?
A4: NCC will accept credits from institutions that are accredited by a regional accrediting agency association. Courses with a "C" or better will be evaluated for applicability to the ECE Associate's Degree program at NCC. Credits can be transferred regardless of when credits were received. Credits do not expire. To receive a credit evaluation please have your transcript sent to:
