An Ever-Changing Field: In order to keep up with the situations and threats in the world around us, the emergency services field changes and evolves continually. The tasks at hand aren’t just about immediate emergency care in the streets or battling blazes; the prevention of exposure to hazardous materials, facility inspections, public education and preparedness are all issues that emergency services professionals face on a daily basis. NCC’s Emergency Services Technology program gives students the necessary skills to meet these challenges and, most importantly, save lives.
A Specialized Program: Emergency Services personnel do something different every day, for every call. NCC’s program is specially designed to make students well-versed in rescue and firefighting skills, emergency scene operations, hazardous materials response, emergency service law, and more. The program also covers recertification in EMT, CPR and other related offerings. Students benefit from a unique learning environment, hands-on training and practical experience through local fire and rescue organizations.
Specialized Programs: Due to the demand for emergency services professionals in Northampton County, NCC created the Emergency Services Specialized (ESS) Diploma program.
The program supplements the current associate’s degree program, but provides students with an alternative level of achievement (26 credits) in a shorter period of time. There is also an opportunity for a (limited enrollment) EMT specialized diploma after completing 6 credits. Tuition-free enrollment options are in place for emergency services personnel currently employed by the county.
