The Marketing AAS degree emphasizes employment upon graduation, and prepares students to successfully perform basic marketing, advertising and public relations functions in the workplace. These functions include: identifying, researching and analyzing target markets, establishing products and services that can most effectively be priced and promoted, and marketing products and services locally and online.
A strong educational core in marketing is increasingly important to businesses as they compete for consumers' attention. The program curriculum builds upon theories and principles so that students understand and can apply them when designing and presenting a marketing plan during the Marketing Simulation course in the final semester.
Working as part of a team, students receive feedback and discover how their actions reflect on brand profitability. Simulation participants learn to study competitive tactics and adjust their marketing strategy to stay ahead of the competition. The hands-on approach in the program provides students with the communication, written, computer and technical skills that employers most desire, as well as an understanding of consumer behavior.
