Residence Hall:
- Consists of two buildings connected by a common area.
- Over 200 beds in the facility.
- Furnished rooms house two or more students (all furnishings are oak) with each containing:
- 2 single, bunkable beds with mattresses
- 2 desks with chairs, bookshelves, and drawers.
- 1 (3-drawer) chest and 1 (2 drawer) storage unit (under bed)
- 2 closet spaces
- 1 room controlled heating/air-conditioning unit
- window shades (oyster white)
- Basic cable, Basic Web access and local phone services are provided.
- Spartans Den, Game Room, Kitchen, Multi-purpose Room, Laundry, Study Room
- Quiet hours – Sunday through Thursday, 10pm – 9am.
- The Residence Hall is smoke free. Residents may smoke in designated outside areas.
Residence Hall Common Areas Include:
Spartans Den Open weekday evenings (special weekend hours) Purchase food with meal card or cash Game Room/Kitchen Pool table, Shuffle Board, TV Kitchen offers two range/oven units, sink, and a microwave Multi-purpose Room MPR, open indoor space Laundry Two rooms house washers and dryers Study Room A comfortable, furnished, well lit space ideal for late night studying Residence Hall Courtyard Outdoor picnic tables with umbrellas

Apartments:
- Twelve furnished, wall-to-wall carpeted apartments
- Four or more students per apartment
- Living room/dinette area containing:
- Dinette table with 4 chairs
- Love seat and sofa
- End table and coffee table
- Window blinds
- Closet
- Kitchen
- Refrigerator, range/oven, sink, counter space
- Bar/counter area with 2 counter stools
- Two bedrooms each including:
- 1 full bathroom
- 2 bunkable beds with mattresses

- 2 (4 drawer) chests

- Access to Residence Hall Laundry Facilities
- Basic cable, internet access, central air conditioning and local phone services are provided
- The Apartments are smoke free. Residents may smoke outside in designated areas.
- There are also academic requirements for living in the apartments.

Mail:
Each resident will be assigned a mailbox number and key. The mailboxes are located in the lobby of the residence hall. Mail is delivered and picked up at the residence hall once a day, Mon-Fri. Cable:
Basic cable services are included within each room/apartment. Students must provide their own television and coaxial cable for hook-up.

Basic Web Access is available for each resident.
Hardware/Software Requirements:
Students are responsible for providing their own computers. To use NCC-SUN, student computers must have the following hardware and software properly installed:

Windows XP with SP2 (Service Pack 2, updated with all current Microsoft security updates and with Windows Firewall enabled,), or Mac OS 9 or higher with applicable security updates.

10/100 megabyte Ethernet network interface card.

Standard Ethernet category 5 cable.

For Wireless users, a correctly installed and configured 802.11b Wi-Fi card (Note: Wireless access is available in many areas around campus but not in the Apartments or Residence Facilities).

Correctly installed TCP/IP protocol set for DHCP

Current anti-virus software.
Support:
NCC does not provide any type of support or repair services for student-owned computers. NCC staff cannot modify or attempt to repair a non-functioning computer. Repairs are the responsibility of the student. NCC is not responsible for the security of the data on student computers. Students are responsible for securing their computer with the latest software patches for their operating system and applications, and anti-virus updates. (Any computer showing signs of an active virus will have its network connectivity immediately suspended. Available Services:
NCC-SUN is granted basic Internet access only; for example: Standard Web traffic - port 80 Standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) traffic - port 443 Ftp access.
Restrictions:
The following are not allowed on or from computers attached to NCC-SUN: File sharing software (e.g., KaZaA, Morpheus, WinMX). Servers containing copyrighted material (software, MP3 files, etc.). Excessive amounts of data, either inbound or outbound. Web servers containing commercial content or for commercial purposes. Mail server (you cannot run a mail server on your computer). Hosting of web cams Providing network connections to anyone else. (You may allow someone else to use your computer; however, you cannot extend the network to other people.) Ping attacks or other “denial of service” attacks on other computers. Servers and or programs that use large amounts of bandwidth. Attempting to access computers you do not have accounts on. Xbox and many other games are not supported Connecting wireless access points Emailing via a non NCC, non web based email accounts.

Telephone Service:
Students must provide their own phone or caller ID ready system. Local phone services, provided by the College, are included in each room and apartment. Residence Hall rooms have a phone line with voice mail and caller ID. Apartments have a phone line with voice mail and caller ID. Long distance phone service can be accessed by using calling cards. Long distance service cannot be purchased through the College or phone service providers.
Top Microwaves/Microfridges:
- Apartment and Residence Hall rooms are not equipped with microwaves or micro-fridges.
- Apartments are each equipped with one 5 cubic ft. refrigerator.
- Apartment/Residence Hall students may bring residential grade microwaves/micro-fridges

Moving In:
Some items to consider bringing to school to make your stay more comfortable:
- Bedding (sheets, blankets, mattress pad, pillows, pillow cases, etc. for a standard twin size bed)
- Towels, washcloths, robe and shower shoes
- Small First Aid Kit
- Stationery needs (paper, pens, pencils, notebooks, binders, dictionary, etc.)
- Laundry bag or basket and detergent
- Quarters for vending
- Carpet* – sizes: 12’ x 13.5’ (does not include closet space) 12’ x 15.5’ (includes closet space)
- Personal Appliances (alarm clock, TV, VCR, radio, computer, microwave, phone, table-top refrigerator*, compact vacuum cleaner, answering machine, blow dryer, curling iron, iron)
- Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.) and bucket to carry them in
- Wastebasket and garbage bags (trash must be placed in dumpsters outside of residence hall)
- Light housekeeping items
- Plants and small decorative items are welcomed
- Curtains* – window size: 44” wide x 54” long (Residence Hall Only)
