Our Message
Over the years, Northampton has led the way among area organizations in recognizing the importance of a pluralistic and diverse culture. We have intentionally, not accidentally, fostered those institutional values that welcome all to our campus and acknowledge the unique contributions of every individual to our learning and teaching community.
Northampton was among the first to honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy and has sponsored and conducted an acclaimed MLK Week every January. We were among the first community colleges to recruit international students and give the campus an authentic multicultural perspective. We were among the first to celebrate the stellar accomplishments of our growing Latino population. We are among the first to actively support the unique educational and developmental needs of gay and lesbian students.
 This diversity page represents what we are, and what we hope to be. We take pride in what we have accomplished, but recognize that our work is never done. We invite you to be a part of that dynamic and exciting community.
