Carol Yuknis

Carol Yuknis began teaching American Sign Language at NCC Bethlehem Campus in 1988. She also teamed with another ASL instructor to teach conversation using ASL. Carol tutors deaf adult students, is works with mentally challenged children as a classroom-based teacher's aide/deaf interpreter.

She attended Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, Philadelphia, Gallaudet College, Washington, DC, and NCC. Her many awards include: 1987-88 NCCC Conquer Scholarship Recipient and 1991 City of Easton Police Dept. Civilian Award.

She was Secretary of the Miss Deaf Pennsylvania organization 1998-97, has been a member of the Dept. of Human Services, Children, Youth & Family Division since 2010. She is currently a member of the Pennsylvania Society Advancement for the Deaf and Lehigh Association of the Deaf, Allentown, PA.

Carol volunteers for Muhlenberg LVH Bethlehem, PA. Her goal is to continue to teach ASL and work with the medical staff on how to approach deaf people.
