Gordon Perry

Gordon PerryGordon Perry is a retired professor of biological sciences who has over 45 years' experience teaching introductory level and specialty courses in plant and animal biology on both the undergraduate and graduate level. Besides having been involved in biological research, his interests include photography and industrial and transportation history. His special interest in canals goes back many years and, being a board member of the Pennsylvania Canal Society, Gordon has been active in canal research and has given a number of presentations on canal history.

His goal in becoming involved with the Community Programs Department at NCC is to offer interesting programs involving transportation history (especially the importance of canals!), industrial development in northeastern PA, as well as a variety of biological topics that may be of interest. He believes that learning is a two-way process and that we can all learn something new from each other's experiences.
