About the Center:
The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is both a physical location and a network of people devoted to faculty college-wide development at both campuses. The physical center is located in 101 Richardson Hall and houses the Instructional Technology department, a personal conference space, a formal conference room, a resource library, and personal retreat/class preparation space.
The Center also includes a 10 station computer lab with presentation capabilities for faculty training. The Center is staffed by the Director of Assessment and the CTL, an office manager, a Manager of Instructional technology, an Instructional Technologist, and a Learning Management Systems Administrator.
The Center offers a variety of programs and resources to assist faculty professional development.
Mission
The purpose of the Center for Teaching and Learning is to support the development and enhancement of a college culture that makes the learning process central, both in and out of the classroom; and encourages college-wide discussion about learning, as well as excellence in teaching and professional practice.
Goals of the Center
- Provide education in effective teaching and learning practices.
- Gather and share new initiatives in teaching and learning.
- Support faculty in their use of technology to enhance instruction and student learning.
- Provide instructional support for adjunct faculty.
- Provide informal opportunities for collegial interaction and collaboration.
- Build a resource library.
