Though English is not offered as a degree program, NCC offers a range of courses designed to improve your writing, enrich your critical thinking skills provide you with an understanding of literature. Courses are offered that cover composition, literature, and creative writing, and fulfill general requirements and provide academic enrichment.
History courses provide students with a better understanding of the historical roots of our nation and the world, and seek to promote the understanding and importance of learning about national and international events and leaders throughout history. Students may pursue a BA in History by using the elective credits in the Liberal Arts program toward a concentration in History.
Liberal Arts courses in Philosophy introduce students to the basic principles and techniques of logical thinking and argumentation, to the history of philosophical thought, to the basic problems of philosophy (What is real? What can be known? What is really worthwhile?), and to a set of methods by which contemporary moral, social, and political problems may be clearly understood and perhaps resolved.
