Why choose Global Studies at NCC?

Northampton Community College's Global Studies program is the perfect choice for students who are passionate about exploring the world and learning about different cultures. NCC’s associate degree program is designed to help you become an actively engaged, aware, and ethical global citizen. The program offers students the unique opportunity to travel the world, with previous destinations including Denmark, China, Costa Rica, Egypt, Jordan, and El Salvador. In addition to study abroad opportunities, the program also provides a six-week experiential program with local organizations that have a global reach for students who are unable to travel.

What You'll Learn

By combining in-class learning with hands-on experiences, you’ll gain a well-rounded education focused on international relations, with the option to choose from a variety of cultural experiences and languages. While pursuing your associate degree, you will touch on economics, politics, history, and culture while learning how these trends shape the world. You'll also explore hot-topic issues such as the effects of climate change on the developing world and maternal health and women's rights. After the completion of the global studies program, you have the option to continue on to a four-year degree or to join the workforce at a nonprofit, government agency, or other organization.
