English as a Second Language:
Northampton's international students can take full advantage of NCC's English as a Second Language (ESL) Program. ESL helps international and community students master English skills essential to academic work and day-to-day conversation including the following:

• Listening and reading comprehension
• Pronunciation
• Grammar and writing methods
• Computer literacy and typing

You will also receive help in developing study skills and test-taking strategies. The ESL Center, a special laboratory for non-native English speakers, provides you with a chance to practice your English with friendly professional and student assistants. You will be required to take an ESL placement test to help us determine your English skill level. A TOEFL score is not required.
