What led me to NCC: I came to NCC completely by accident! I brought my incoming freshman daughter for orientation, and was so impressed with the school and faculty at the Monroe campus, I decided to return to school myself.
Someone who has influenced me in pursuing my academic goals: My husband, Darrin - he always supports and encourages me in any endeavor. Can't ask for a better cheerleader.
Some advice I would give to someone thinking about coming to NCC: NCC is the place to be! Whether it's to ease into (or ease back into) college life. The challenging curriculum rivals that of any 4-year institution, and the campus is intimate enough to have the staff know who you are. So very glad I chose NCC!

What led me to NCC: What led me to NCC was their Dual-Enrollment program because it helped me to explore new academic opportunities while I was still in high school, and gave me a head start in my college career.
Someone who has influenced me in pursuing my academic goals: Someone who influences me in pursuing my academic goals is my mother. She has taught to always give back, always wear a smile even on the worst of days and to never give up. I thank her everyday for making me the person I am today and always providing me with the resources I need to continue my academic adventure.
What advice I would offer to someone thinking about attending NCC: Take advantage of being a great student and join the Honor's Program. Being in NCC's Honors Program will not only strengthen you as an individual, but will also provide you with many opportunities to challenge and test your highest abilities as a growing student. Take risks and challenge yourself to make new discoveries with your community, professors and fellow students.

What led me to NCC: I also am going to college because if I graduate I will be the first person in actual family to finish college. In the end however, I wanted to attend college to better myself so I can do better for myself than my parents and keep going strong.
Someone who has influenced me in pursuing my academic goals: My parents always encouraged me to go to college. They always said that the more I know the better I can make myself.
What advice I would offer to someone thinking about attending NCC: I would say go for it! It is a great school to go to when you want to save money getting your degree, or because you know you know you want to go to college, but not sure what for, like me. The teachers here are nice and will go out of their way to help you succeed. All and all, NCC is a great school to go to!

What led me to NCC: I was led to NCC because I had heard from many students about its awesome community, different opportunities for students here, awesome and fun faculty and staff, and of course its proximity to home.
Someone who has influenced me in pursuing my academic goals: My family, especially my Mother, Maritza Curtis. She has always been my biggest supporter. Matthew Maldonado, Dr. Belinda Anderson, the NCC Monroe Leadership Advisory Board & Erin Ward have been the best faculty and staff and have influenced me in my academic career.
What advice I'd offer to someone thinking about attending NCC: Apply! It is a great school. You will meet a lot of different and awesome people. Join a club. Get involved with the different campus events and activities. Don't be afraid to ask for help; there will always be someone to help you!

Someone who has influenced me in pursuing my academic goals: My 1-year-old son.
Some advice I would give to someone thinking about coming to NCC: NCC is a very diverse and welcoming place to be. The people are friendly, your safety is important, and NCC provides great learning experiences.

What led me to NCC: I was led to NCC because I had heard from many students about its close-knit community, excellent faculty, and closeness to home.
Someone who has influenced me in pursuing my academic goals: All of my past and current professors have played large roles in my academic careers. Professor Julie B. Houston in particular has been one of the most influential persons who has greatly influenced and encouraged me to pursue my academic goals here at NCC.
Some advice I would give to someone thinking about coming to NCC: Becoming a student here at NCC was one of the best decisions I have made so far. Future schools that I go to will have a hard time living up to the standards of the staff and faculty that this school has set forth. I am grateful for all of the opportunities and resources that NCC has provided to me. The experiences that I have& received at this school can never be matched by any other!

Isaac LaRue

What led me to NCC: My friend Logan Miller is the one that influenced me the most, been in school together since 3rd grade.
Someone who has influenced me in pursuing my academic goals: My mom is the one that pushes me the most academically, I want to be able to buy her a house when I get older and tell her she doesn't have to work anymore.
Some advice I would give to someone thinking about coming to NCC: It is an awesome atmosphere here and very diverse. You'd meet some great friends and faculty as well that all want to see you succeed.

Someone who has influenced me in pursuing my academic goals: My PTK advisor, Michelle Pretopapa, has taken great strides to encourage and inspire me along my journey.
Some advice I would give to someone thinking about coming to NCC: Receive every opportunity NCC offers openly, and don't let fear hold you back.

What led me to NCC: After graduating high-school at 16, I decided that since NCC was close to home, it would be the right place for me to gain experience and grow in the world of academia.
Someone who has influenced me in pursuing my academic goals: My family has always supported me in my academic endeavor, and have inspired me to always succeed, as well as the supporting faculty here at NCC, particularly Professors Julie Houston and Miles Harris.
Some advice I would give to someone thinking about coming to NCC: Make an effort to do your best in whatever major you so choose, get involved with the Northampton Community, and make an effort to push yourself to do better.

What advice I would offer to someone thinking about attending NCC: Do it! Save money, get a job, and get involved!
