Spartans Named to Baseball All-Region Team

Go, Spartans!

The Northampton Baseball team placed five players on the 2015 Division III All-Region team, the highest number of Spartans selected since joining the NJCAA in spring 2009.

Ben Hauser, Jake Lisinicchia, and Roanderson Severino were named to the Second Team, while Zach Werner and Luini Ortiz were both tabbed Third Team selections.

Hauser, Severino and Werner were also named First Team All-Conference .

Hauser batted a .342, including a team-high 11 doubles and drove in 17 runs. Werner finished the season with a record of 7-3 with 63 innings pitched, including 4 complete games. Severino finished with a .366 average, 7 stolen bases and 22 runs scored. Lisinicchia finished with a .333 batting average with 19 RBI. Ortiz led Northampton in homeruns with 4, while knocking in 26 runs.

The Spartans finished the 2015 season with a 23-18 overall record, falling in the Region XIX playoffs to 3rd seeded Bergen County College in the first round.
