Jingle Bell Run Raises Money for Arthritis Foundation
December 8, 2006

The sound of bells you might have heard on December 2 were not from a sleigh pulled by reindeer, but the jingle of bells tied to the sneakers of determined walkers and runners who were helping to support the Arthritis Foundation. The Jingle Bell Run was held on Main Campus.

A team of twenty NCC nursing students, staff, faculty, and friends of NCC ran and walked for the cause and raised a total of $709. The team also earned five medals for having the fastest times in this 5K event. Allison Carpenter, assistant professor of English, won a medal for her run. Carolyn Kern, dean of allied health and sciences, Brooke Gabany, the 10-year-old daughter of nursing student Bridgette Gabany, Ralph Marino, and Peter Roland were all medal winners for their speedy walking times.
