To help better understand music and movement in young children’s lives, early childhood education majors taking Music and Movement classes created banners to capture this special energy. These banners are displayed around the playground of the Reibman Hall Children’s Center on Main Campus. As you walk by, enjoy the colors, shapes, sounds and movement!
“My banner represents the energy and sounds that music and movement bring. I chose the colors on the fabric because they remind me of the high and low energy levels that you can experience with music or movement. The design and shape provide different patterns and folds which remind me of the elements of movement. The guitar picks are included because music to me is about guitars,” is how one student described her creation.
The project was developed by the early childhood education faculty and artist in residence, Bill Christine.
