Who needs the world’s greatest athletes clashing on a field in
Miami when you can curl up with a hot, steamy bowl of soup? For soup lovers everywhere, the second annual Souper Bowl was held at Starter’s Riverport Bar and Grille in the Southside on Saturday, January 27. Over twenty restaurants competed to be the best in the following soup categories: chowder, cream, ethnic, seafood, vegetarian, and best overall. NCC culinary art students and instructors (Chefs Susan Roth and Dianne Henry; and students Will Rufe, Victor Collins, and Stacey Sakelarides) representing the College’s Hampton Winds restaurant came with their game faces on and ready to rumble. They were runner-ups in the seafood category for their Thai Shrimp Red Curry with Coconut Milk and Lemongrass soup. Look for it on the menu in Hampton Winds this summer!
