Graduates of Northampton Community College's registered nursing program achieved the highest pass rate among all of the associate degree nursing programs in the state for 2016-2017. They scored a 98% pass rate. The average pass rate across the state was 91.10%, above the national average of 86.94%.

Graduates of Northampton's licensed practical nursing program also exceeded state and national averages with a pass rate of 92.50% compared to 84.34% in Pennsylvania and 83.65% nationwide.

"As a measure of quality, these rates are a source of great pride," says Mary Jean Osborne, the director of NCC's nursing programs. "They are a testimony to the outcomes that can be achieved by combining an organization focused on student success, faculty and staff committed to excellence in nursing education and highly motivated students."

Many of the nurses employed in hospitals, doctors' offices and nursing homes in the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos began their education at Northampton.
