Representatives from non-profit agencies who want to learn more about locating grant sources are invited to the Northampton Community College Campus’s Paul and Harriett Mack Library, Thursday, January 10th, 2008 from 10 a.m. - noon for a special workshop. The workshop will highlight the services provided by The Foundation Center, the county’s largest database of private foundations, and provide an overview of its database of more than 71,000 grantmakers. Although the workshop is free, reservations are required and can be made by calling 610-861-5358. The deadline is Monday, January 7th.

The session will include an introduction to The Foundation Center, an organization devoted to supporting and improving institutional philanthropy; an overview of grant resources included in the database; a demonstration of FC Search, including advanced strategies for sample searches; exploration of the organization’s Web site and its many links for those seeking grants; and an opportunity to use the database.
