MArch 21, 2007

FOR RELEASE UPON RECEIPT Contact: Heidi Butler

Where is the newspaper industry headed? Is it a dinosaur limping toward extinction or a business transforming itself for growth in the 21st -century marketplace?

What will tomorrow’s newspapers look like?

Area newspaper publishers and media observers will address these timely questions in a panel discussion titled “Gazing into the Crystal Ball: Newspapers in 2025,” to be held Tuesday, April 24, on the Bethlehem Township campus of Northampton Community College.

Among the participants will be publishers Timothy R. Kennedy of The Morning Call, Jim Maxwell of the Pocono Record, and Martin Till of The Express-Times. Rob Hays, coordinator of NCC’s journalism program, will serve as moderator.

The discussion, to be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the David A. Reed Community Room on the second floor of College Center, is geared for an audience of high school and college students, faculty and staff, and other interested members of the public.
