New Scholarship at NCC Honors Founder of Westgate Mall
A new scholarship has been established at Northampton Community College in memory of Harold S. Campbell. Campbell was a successful Lehigh Valley real estate developer, businessman, entrepreneur and community philanthropist. Among his noted developments was the creation of the Westgate Mall in Bethlehem.
To honor his memory the Harold S. Campbell Charitable Foundation has created an endowment which will provide a scholarship for a Northampton Community College student who has financial need, a history of solid academic performance, and who is majoring in education, architecture or business.
“We are grateful the trustees selected Northampton Community College to house this scholarship,” says Susan Kubik, executive director of the College’s Foundation. “Harold Campbell made the Lehigh Valley a better place in which to live and work. Since the college also strives to make the Valley a better place by training its workforce, this scholarship is a natural fit.”
The first scholarship will be awarded in the fall of 2007. Students interested in being considered should contact Paul Acampora at 610-332-6170.
