Military Panel
September 13, 2006

Come and Hear True Stories from Today’s Soldiers

A special panel discussion titled “True Stories from Today’s Soldiers” will be held in West Plaza at Thursday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. Four NCC students and alumni who have served in the military overseas will share their experiences to help their fellow students understand the realities of a soldier’s life. The panelists are:

Sgt. 1st Class Robert L. Brockel, Jr. of Bethlehem retired from the Pennsylvania Army National Guard this past spring. He served in the guard for 28 years. He is now pursuing a degree in radiography.

Spec. Joshua M. Davis of West Easton returned from deployment to Iraq in early July 2006. He, too, served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He is majoring in emergency services at NCC.

Spec. James W. Kresge of Mount Bethel is also a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He is a business administration major who also holds an associate degree in criminal justice from NCC. He intends to pursue law enforcement as a career.

Staff Sgt. Kraig McFadden of Grove City, PA, served in the United States Air Force in a unit that specialized in fire protection, special operations, and safety. McFadden graduated from NCC in 2000 with a degree in emergency services. During his student days he served as a community assistant (CA) in the residence halls. He feels that the CA program provided him leadership skills that helped him in his role as a soldier.
