NCC Hosts Disability in Film Series
October is both Disability and Diversity Awareness Month. In recognition of this, Northampton Community College is holding its first annual film series: Expressions of Diversity: Disability in Film. Films such as Children of a Lesser God, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, and A Beautiful Mind were selected as powerful mediums for educating the community about both issues of disability and diversity, dispelling myths, and promoting a new approach to disability which guarantees equal rights and opportunities.
This event is free and open to the public. Facilities are accessible. Please call 610-861-5342 in advance if you need any accommodations. Films will be shown at NCC’s Main Campus, 3835 Green Pond Road, Bethlehem; the Monroe Campus, 3 Old Mill Road, Tannersville; and the Fowler Family Southside Center, 511 E. Third St., Bethlehem.
