NCC Presents “The Painter’s Process” Art Exhibit
Explore four different takes on “The Painter’s Process” at an exhibit presented at Northampton Community College’s Gallery from August 29 through October 24. A lecture by all four artists whose work comprises the exhibit will be held in College Center 146 on September 6 from 3:30 to 4:50 p.m., followed by a reception in the Gallery from 5 to 6 p.m.
Participating artists include:
Roy Kinzer, who is very involved in acrylic paint and glazing technologies as well as having an interest in fractals. His initial imagery is derived from satellite photos of the earth.
Colin Thomson, who uses the more traditional techniques of drawing, watercolor and oil painting to pursue a very personal approach to abstract form-making.
Lindsay Walt, who works in acrylics and utilizes glazing and wash techniques to create fields of rich blues overlaid with minutely detailed patterns done in ink.
John H. White, who brings a very painterly approach to the age-old technique of egg tempera painting, creating richly layered abstract fields of colored patterns.
The NCC Gallery is located in Communications Hall at the Main Campus in Bethlehem Township. For more information, call the Gallery at 610-861-5062.
