Alternatives to the Death Penalty Speaking Tour

The Pennsylvanian’s for Alternatives to the Death Penalty Speaking Tour will be coming to Main Campus on Tuesday, April 1 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in College Center Room 220.

Speakers include:

Juan Melendez - he became the 99th death row prisoner in the country to be exonerated and released since 1973 upon his exoneration and release from death row on January 3, 2002.

Walter Everett - his son, Scott, was murdered in 1987. Walt serves as a member of the board of directors of Murder Victims’ Families for Human Rights, an international organization of victims who work to abolish the death penalty. He is the pastor of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Sunbury, Pennsylvania.

This event is sponsored by the Political Science Club, the Women’s Club, and the Forum on Peace, Justice, and Conflict Resolution.
