In a breather before final exams next week, students got together on a chilly May 1st in Laub Lounge for Quadfest. Iffy weather forecasts caused the event to be moved indoors to Laub Lounge this year, but the spirit of relaxation and fun proved as sunny as ever.

Danny D’Angelis kept the beat throbbing as he deejayed hip hop tunes. Diana Hernandez, a member of the Student Senate, which sponsored the event, leapt on a platform and roused people to “vote and enjoy.”
After piling their plates with tempeh and sun-dried tomatoes, chicken Alfredo, and other pasta specialties, students played chess and visited creative exhibits and tables with information about student organizations.

The exhibits invited minds and hands to puzzle them out and try them. One, called “Second Childhood” by Nick Skrobak, Brandon Golden and Jay Hall allowed participants to relive their early years by finger-painting and pushing random buttons. Another, “Voodo Bot” was a robot-like art piece that gobbled and shredded “spells” written on bits of paper.
While celebrating the coming close of the year, students glanced ahead to next semester, by listening to and voting for candidates for Student Senate.
