It was a meeting of the minds as students elected to represent the student bodies of both the
Main and Monroe Campus participated in a joint retreat on the morning of October 14 by video conference. Members of the Main Campus Student Senate and the Monroe Campus Governance discussed plans for joint bylaws, changes to NCC’s smoking policy, upcoming events, and GPA requirements for senators. In the afternoon, the Main Campus Student Senate headed over to the rope course at Lehigh University to work on their team building skills.
Both groups decided to hold open forums about how students can prepare for a smoke-free campus. All are invited to attend and share their opinions. The Monroe Campus Student Governance Open Forum about smoking on campus will be held on Tuesday, November 11 at 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Community Room.
The Main Campus Student Senate Forum about “How do we prepare for a “smoke-free” campus” and “How can we reduce our carbon footprint?” will be held on Thursday, November 20 at 11 a.m. on the second floor of College Center in West Plaza . This event is sponsored by the Student and Faculty Senates, the College Life Committee, and the Environmental Task Force.
