Monroe Campus Honor Society Collects for Local SPCA
March 7, 2008

NCC’s Monroe Campus Phi Theta Kappa, Beta Beta Chi Chapter is holding a drive for the Stroudsburg SPCA. The honor society is collecting donations for the animal shelter in addition to recruiting volunteers to help with animal care and shelter maintenance.

Supplies needed are blankets, bleach, cleaning products, cat and dog food, cat litter, leashes, toys, bedding, and crates. Donations can be dropped off at NCC’s Monroe Campus in designated bins in the front lobby and the wedge.

The Monroe Campus Film Society will present "Sweeney Todd," starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter on Thursday, March 27 in the Community Room at 12:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Admission for the 7:00 p.m. show is either one of the supply items or a cash donation for the SPCA. Admission for the 12:30 p.m. showing is free, although a donation bin will be provided for those who would like to contribute an item.

The SPCA needs volunteers to walk, play, and brush and bath the pets as well as perform routine maintenance such as painting, putting up ceiling tiles, and cleaning out crates. If you would like to volunteer your time, please visit the Stroudsburg SPCA's website or call 570-421-6761.
