Four NCC students have been elected to serve on the Main Campus Student Senate. The newly elected officers will serve on the 2007-2008 Senate.

Josh Phillips, a biological science major, was elected as the new senate chairperson. Vice Chairperson in 2007-2008 and the only candidate to have served as both a senator and officer, it was Phillips previous senate experience that encouraged him to run for chairperson.

Joseph Fox, a general studies major, was inspired to run for vice chairperson because of the diverse NCC community. “We need to come together and see what it is we can do as a team, as a family. There are more things we all share in common and we can make a difference together!”

The new treasurer is Giancarlo Sanchez, a business administration major. He plans on putting his knowledge of business administration to good use as the new treasurer.

“I want something that can challenge me in what I do,” is why Lisett Ramirez ran for secretary. The education major is also secretary of the Hispanic American Cultural Club and Team Act 101.
The Student Senate is a student government body that represents the students of NCC. Visit the Senate’s website for more information.
