NCC Publications Take National Awards
March 26, 2008

Northampton Community College publications have won four awards for excellence in content and design.

The college’s magazine took first place among community college magazines in the Middle Atlantic states, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Ontario in a competition sponsored by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. Published quarterly by the Northampton Community College Foundation, the magazine has a circulation of 40,000. Most articles are written by members of the College staff. Co-editors are Paul Joly, director of marketing and publications at the College, and Jim Johnson, director of duplicating and mail services. The designer is Traci Anfuso-Young who teaches graphic design at the College. Anfuso-Young and Johnson are both NCC graduates.

The college’s annual report also won a bronze in this competition and in national communications contests sponsored by the Admissions Marketing Report and by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations. The Admissions Marketing Report contest drew more than 2000 entries. Northampton Community College’s annual report captured the College’s pride in its 40-year history and in its plans for the future. It was produced by creative consultant Sharon Tercha and designed by Linda Gipson, both of Allentown.
