Happy New Year
August 22, 2008

More than 10,000 students will begin classes at Northampton Community College during the week of August 25 – the largest number in college history. Statistics compiled by the Pennsylvania Department of Education indicate that on a percentage basis NCC is the fastest-growing community college in the Commonwealth.

In a “State of the College” address delivered on August 21, NCC’s president, Dr. Arthur Scott told faculty and staff that in the midst of growth they hold the key to maintaining the small-college atmosphere prized by students.

“We stay a small college by treating everyone well,” he said. “The passion, the good feeling we have at our college is obvious and can be felt when you visit our campuses. Organizational culture makes a difference. It affects how we work, the level of community support we receive, and how students perceive their time with us.”

Students can look forward to a welcome back party on the Bethlehem Township campus on September 4 and on the Monroe Campus on September 9.
