Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) program teaches fundamental medical coding skills for physicians, mid-level providers, and medical staffs who are preparing to take AAPC's CPC exam. The program covers CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10-CM coding and offers a broad knowledge in reviewing and assigning the correct procedure and diagnosis codes for physician services.
This 10 week, 60 hour CPC exam preparation program is perfect for experienced coders preparing for the CPC exam and students who have completed other medical coding programs and are seeking to advance their coding knowledge or employment potential. Upon successful completion, students will be able to successfully challenge the Certified Professional Coder exam offered through American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). A CPC® designation must have at least two years medical coding experience. Those who pass the CPC® exams but have not yet met this requirement will be designated as an Apprentice (CPC-A®) on their certificate. Additional information can be found at www.aapc.com. Exam fee of $380 is not included in the course. Note: Participants must have access to copies of: ICD-10CM, CPT, and HCPCS manuals.
Medical coders currently working in the field with a minimum of two years experience or graduate of a medical billing and coding program.
