Attendance Requirements – It is important to attend all the sessions, including a mandatory leadership retreat. However, if you already know you will miss a particular day, contact us to discuss your options.
When can I register?
Leadership Pocono (LP) is an open enrollment program of CBI. Participants are typically nominated by their organizations to attend, but independent registrations are accepted. Class sizes are limited to 20 participants. If the class is full, you can be waitlisted in the event of a cancellation or be put on the roster for the following year. Participants can apply for the program at any time. The class roster will be finalized approximately one month before the program starts. To register, contact the LP office at 570.369.1867 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. Online registration begins February 6th.
What is the cost?
Tuition is $1,500 per person, paid at the time of acceptance into the program. Tuition covers all costs associated with the program, including training, materials, and meals.

Participants selected by nominating organizations will benefit from a leadership immersion program that is immediately applicable to their job. In addition, we prepare your employee to lead and support efforts to sustain the health of our community, train them to represent your organization appropriately, and provide exceptional professional networking opportunities.

What is the program's daily schedule?
Sessions are 8 am to 4:30 pm one day each month from September until June, plus a mandatory leadership retreat. Participants should also plan to dedicate and manage time outside the classroom to complete their team assignments. The daily structure will vary depending on the topics presented and may include site visits or appropriate volunteer work. The final program agenda will be presented to participants at the opening session in September.
Do participants get ongoing coaching or consulting support?
As a graduate of Leadership Pocono, you are granted access to the Center for Business and Industry's team of leadership experts, who can answer questions or provide the occasional coaching/consulting support needed to implement your learned leadership skills at work or in service to the community. This support is provided at no additional cost.
Are there commitments or expectations after the program?
After graduating from Leadership Pocono, most participants join nonprofit boards in the Pocono region or become volunteers and advocates for issues of interest. All participants are encouraged to actively engage in helping sustain a healthy and vibrant community. Following the program, selected participants are asked to become involved in supporting the program for the following year.
