9 Ways to Keep Your New Year's Resolutions

January 02, 2014

Do any of these New Year's resolutions look familiar? Keep reading to find out how to reach your goals.

1.    Go Back to School

With multiple locations, online options, and an excellent education at an affordable price, NCC is the perfect place to continue your educational journey. There's still time to register! Spring classes begin on January 13.

2.    Save Money
Starting your education at a community college can save you tens of thousands of dollars. You may also be eligible for Financial Aid.

3.    Find a New Job
Education is the key to a career change. Choose from nearly 100 transfer and career programs here at NCC. Not sure which path to take? At the Work/Life Center, explore your career options through career testing, personalized job coaching, career counseling, and resume consultation at affordable prices. If you're a single parent, a homemaker returning to work, or in career transition, you may qualify for the free New Choices program.

If you're a current student, schedule an appointment with Career Services today!

4.    Get Fit
If you're a credit student, you can use the gym at Main Campus free of charge. Anyone can take advantage of LifeLearn fitness classes which include everything from belly dancing to boot camp!

5.    Socialize More in Real Life Than Online
There's more to college than classes, studying and exams! NCC has a vibrant campus life with parties, dances  and club events. We've also got an excellent Athletic Department - become a student-athlete, a fan, or both!

6.   Learn Something New
We've got a ton of fun, interesting non-credit classes to match every personality. Want to learn to take better photos? Explore your creative side? Learn to play golf? Cook like a top chef? There is something for everyone with NCC enrichment classes!

7.    Spend More Time with Family|
Wondering what to do for date night with your significant other? Try Hampton Winds for a fine dining experience. Or indulge in a partners massage class, reflexology for couples, or couples yoga.

Bring the kids to the Cops 'n Kids Reading Room for fun, free activities for children ages preschool through grade 6.

8.    Take a Trip
Our students have had the opportunity to study abroad in places like France, Russia, Denmark, Peru, Turkey, and Costa Rica!  Learn a new language as a credit student or with enrichment courses.

9.    Volunteer to Help Others
NCC has a strong commitment to service learning and gives students the opportunity to help their community in conjunction with their classroom instruction.  For more information about service learning at NCC or to volunteer, students can contact Debra Bohr, service learning administrator, at dbohr@northampton.edu.

NCC is looking for volunteer tutors to work with our adult literacy/adult basic education or ESL students.

Make 2014 a year to remember. It all begins right here at Northampton Community College. For more information, visit northampton.edu or give us a call at 610-861-5300. Happy New Year!
