Sonia Kunz, a business administration graduate and Emily Wallace, a radio/TV major, gave presentations at the annual Beacon Conference on June 6 at State University of New York-Ulster in Stone Ridge, New York. Both presentations were part of a gender studies panel.

The annual conference was established to recognize, celebrate and showcase achievement of outstanding students at community colleges in the mid-Atlantic region.

Kunz gave a presentation about sexual slavery and was mentored by Kiki Anastasakos, professor of political science.  Wallace's presentation was about motherhood, and she was mentored by Alison Diefenderfer, adjunct professor of sociology.
