Northampton Community College (NCC) is on Schools.com's "short list" of "community colleges to check out in Pennsylvania."
An article written by Aimee Hosler and posted on October 21 highlights the large choice of majors at NCC, the fact that two faculty members have been named Pennsylvania Professor of the Year, and the College's ranking as the top workplace in the Lehigh Valley.
Hosler says "community colleges can pay off -- and not just in tuition savings." She cites a 2013 report from the Community College Research Center at Columbia University which "suggests that completing a two-year degree before transferring to a four-year college could carry a $50,000 premium over the course of 20 years," and another study from National Student Clearinghouse Research Center that "found that community college transfers have higher college completion rates than students who go directly into four-year institutions."
Schools.com is a website created to connect students "with the right information, people and schools to help them advance in life." Inclusion on the list was not based on advertising.
