NCC Professor Elected to Popular Culture Board

Northampton Community College (NCC) Professor of English James Von Schilling has been elected toJames Von Schilling the Board of Governors of the Popular Culture and American Culture Association

Von Schilling earned a bachelor's degree in English from Princeton University, a master's degree in education from New York University, and a doctorate in American Culture from Bowling Green State University.    

He is the author of The Magic Window: American Television, 1939 - 1953 and gives presentations and interviews on popular culture and media all over the country.  His presentation topics range from the Baby Boom Generation to Muhammad Ali to popular television series to the Boswell Sisters singing group of the 1930s. 

Von Schilling has been on the faculty of NCC since 1984.
