The League of Women Voters of Northampton County and Northampton Community College (NCC) will present a planning and safety forum on pipelines. The informative event will feature a panel discussion about such issues as safety, siting, environmental impacts, regulatory processes, and the role of citizen input in guiding this expanding infrastructure.
The forum will be held on Wednesday, February 19, at 7 p.m. in NCC's Alumni Hall.
The speakers include:
Karen Gentile, representative of Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA).
Norm Parrish, liaison representative for the Pennsylvania One Call System, Inc. (811).
Jamal Abodalo, director of engineering of the Berks County Planning Commission.
This event is funded through a grant to the Pennsylvania State League of Women Voters - Citizen Education Fund by the U.S. Department of Transportation, Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, Technical Assistance Grant: Pennsylvania Pipelines: Providing an Ounce of Prevention.
