Frequently asked questions about Tuition Payment

What is my Tuition Bill/Schedule?

Your Tuition Bill/Schedule is a detail of your course schedule, your student account financial information and the balance due for the semester all on one page.  Each semester is billed separately.  See Understanding Your Bill for a detailed explanation and illustration.

This is your Bill for the semester. You are responsible for paying the balance due or enrolling in the tuition payment plan by the tuition due date as published in the academic calendar and explained in more detail below (scroll down to "When is Payment due?").

When will I receive my bill?

Students who register or add classes on-line are responsible for printing their bill from the Spartan Net system.  Click on "Tuition Bill/Schedule" to access your schedule and bill for the semester.  The bottom portion of the Tuition Bill/Schedule will indicate the balance due.

Students who register or add/drop in person receive their schedule and bill immediately from the staff member who processed their registration or add/drop.

Students who register or add/drop by fax or by mail will be mailed a Tuition Bill/Schedule within 24 hours of receipt of the registration or add/drop request.  You should expect to received it within 3-5 business days by first class U.S. mail.

When is payment due?

Credit tuition is due on the tuition due date listed in the Academic Calendar.

1.  If your registration includes a combination of courses starting on various dates, full payment for all classes is due based on the earliest starting class.

2.  If your classes start later in the semester, tuition/fee payment  is due two weeks prior to the start of the class.

3.  Distance learning tuition is due upon registration unless you enroll in the tuition payment plan (need Bursar approval). To see if your distance course qualifies for the tuition payment plan, contact the Bursar's Office.

4.  If you register after the tuition due date, full payment of the balance due or payment plan enrollment and applicable downpayment is due within 3 business days from your date of registration.

Noncredit tuition is due upon registration

Housing and Meal Plan fees are charged to your student account and payment is due with your tuition payment.  See Note to Financial Aid Recipients below; the same rule applies to your housing balance.

Failure to pay your student account in full or put the balance on a payment plan or make satisfactory payments on your payment plan on or before the tuition due date may cause you to lose your course registration and housing reservation without prior notice.

Please note: Failure to pay your bill in full or attend classes without proper withdrawal may not automatically result in class cancellation.  Failure to attend without proper withdrawal may result in your receiving an 'F' grade from you instructor and your being 100% responsible for your account balance.  If you do not plan on attending, you must withdraw in writing with the Records Office or the Monroe Campus Office.

What must I pay?

1.  The balance due in full so that the account balance is zero on or before the tuition due date, or,

2.  Enroll in a tuition payment plan for the full balance due on or before the tuition due date, or,

3.  Have "Pending" financial aid to cover 100% of your balance due.  This amount will be listed on your Tuition Bill/Schedule under the "pending financial aid" column, or,

4.  Students whose financial aid award is not enough to cover their full bill need to pay the difference or put the difference on a payment plan on or before the tuition due date in order for their classes to be held.

NOTE FOR FINANCIAL AID RECIPIENTS:  NCC can only deduct financial aid that is "Pending" from the Tuition Bill/Schedule.  If financial aid is not "pending", students must either pay the balance due in full or enroll on the tuition payment plan on or before the tuition due date.  [Notification letters from PHEAA do not satisfy this requirement].

College Work Study Awards cannot be applied towards your account balance.  Financial aid Awards for a a future session cannot be applied towards your current session account balance.

See Methods of Payment for information on paying your bill or tuition payment plan for payment plan information.
