By participating in online tutoring, I understand the following:

• tutors will not do my work for me; 
• tutors are not a substitute for my instructor, and tutoring is not a substitute  for attending and participating in class;
• in accordance with NCC’s Academic Honesty policy as stated in the Student Handbook, I will not ask for assistance on assignments, tests, or projects that my instructor expects me to complete on my own.

Instructions for Online Tutoring

1) Check the Online Tutoring Schedule (above) to see if online tutoring is offered for your distance or on-campus course. If tutoring is offered,

2) GET THE LINK for your online tutoring room from your Blackboard course>“Course Information”> “Student rights and Support Services”; the Bethlehem Learning Center (tbrindisi@northampton.edu); the Monroe Learning Center (jbednar@northampton.edu); or the Distance Learning office (dzienis@northampton.edu). If you email us, we will send you the links right away. Configure your computer (You only have to do this step once).

3) The word "appt" on the tutoring schedule means tutors will log on at that time only if students have contacted them via email and arranged an appointment beforehand.
4) On the evening you want tutoring, open Internet Explorer and plug in your headset (if you have one). Click on the link for your online tutoring room at the scheduled tutoring time. Remember you can log in to the tutoring room only during the scheduled tutoring time, for ex., Monday from 8-11PM. Follow the instructions.

EMAIL TUTORING

You can email your tutor with your quick questions or make an appointment. Write to a tutor with a specific question or problem. Please specify the course (e.g. PHIL202), instructor, and assignment. A tutor will respond within one or two working days.
