Our program curriculum is designed for:
Career Exploration - assess interests and aptitudes to focus on possible traditional and non-traditional jobs or careers.
Communications - practice communications skills to develop confidence in goal setting for personal and career decisions.
Educational and Training Options - explore local training programs in Northampton, Lehigh and Monroe counties and how to obtain financial aid for training.
Job Readiness - develop job hunting skills such as resume writing and interviewing.
Stress Management - consider sources of stress to identify and address these potential distractions from career and personal goals.
Mentoring - interview or job shadow someone who works in the career field of interest.
Support Group - discuss current life concerns and issues to determine creative solutions.
Job Club - participate in weekly meetings with others who are actively job hunting, share job leads, and offer mutual support.
Math Refresher - review and brush up on basic math skills needed for career, job, or training success.
Computer Overview - learn computer basics and how technology influences the workplace.
Internships - participate in a 60-hour work experience in a field of interest.
Counseling - short-term counseling available (by appointment only) to program participants.
