Northampton Community College is among the most affordable choices available for college-bound students. Still, many students would not be able to pursue an NCC education without the help of private scholarships. Donors who create and support student scholarship opportunities support one of the most important functions of the Northampton Community College Foundation: to change students' lives for the better.
There are two types of scholarship at Northampton Community College:
This is a permanent and perpetual scholarship fund created with a gift or gifts totaling at least $15,000. The principal of the fund is invested to produce income, and scholarships are awarded using a percentage of the interest.
This is a scholarship fund in which the donor contributes the award amount annually. Contributions can be added to the fund by the initial donor and/or others who may wish to contribute to the fund (i.e., family, friends, employers, etc.).
Creating a scholarship for students at Northampton Community College is a simple process. Scholarships can be established by an individual, family or group. They can be funded in many ways including cash, stocks and bequests. Donors may build an endowment over a period of time up to five (5) years. Student recipients are selected by the college based on guidelines created by the donor at the time the scholarship is established. Both annual scholarships and scholarship endowments can be named in honor or in memory of family members, friends and loved ones.
